Back in July of 2020 i was on the hunt for a second vehicle for myself, me having a truck already, I knew i could get away with another small size car. I didn't need anything amazing, however i wanted something with a five speed and rear wheel drive.
So i got to looking and after finding a few cars i knew i couldn't afford, i settled on going to see a 1987 Nissan 300zx 2+0, it was only a base model. No turbo to worry about for its age!
When i first saw the car i thought, wow is this small, it was also quite a mess. However i was drawn to it, i test drove it and i fell in love. The clutch felt different from my 1993 honda civic with a d15b6, this car seemed easier to drive somehow. While i was testing it, i noticed the interior was quite a bit tighter though. And it definitely would need a lot of work to get where i wanted it.
After trying it, i decided to get it, I knew i overpaid for it. However i just knew i needed to have this car from the 80's, an era i wish i could've experienced.
Later in the week i got the car and all paperwork was sorted out, i began going over the car and cleaning it up. right away i noticed it needed a lot, and i was defeated for a bit.
Well, after fixing all the suspension, the headlights, turn signals, t-top seals, and re doing the interior carpeting and all. She is pretty close, it needs more, however this car is a fun thing to drive.
And yes, the T-tops are awesome (while still a little leaky, rtv has motly fixed them!), the exhaust note is incredible, a friend over at #snfab hooked me up, and i couldn't be happier with it!

So in the end, i'd say yeah, go find yourself a project car from the era of your choice. Life is to short to not try something you want to do, try it and learn from it. Thank you for reading!
